Daily Prayer 2024 May 08

Oh God, our Heavenly Father, Thank you for all your many blessings.  We reflect on Acts of the Apostles 17:15, 22–18:1 the journey of Paul to Athens, and his message at the Areopagus.  He spoke of You, the unknown God now revealed, the Creator of all that exists.

You do not dwell in temples made by hands, nor do You need human service.  It is You who gives life, breath, and all things to everyone, guiding the course of history.  In You, we live, move, and have our being, as even the Athenian poets have said.

We are Your offspring, not to liken You to gold or stone, but to know You in spirit and truth.  You call all to repentance, setting a day for judgment through the one You have raised from the dead.

Some scoffed at the message of resurrection, yet others were intrigued and believed.  Among them were Dionysius, Damaris, and others who embraced the faith and followed Paul.

As Paul continued to Corinth, we too follow the path You set before us, sharing the Gospel.  Continue to bless me, mine, and those of my family, with wealth and mighty force.  We lift up our silent requests, knowing You are always near and ready to hear us.

We pray these things to you, our Lord God, through Christ. And It Is So.
