Prayer of the day 2024 April 26

Our Dear most Gracious Heavenly Father, our Shelter and Refuge,

In the quiet of this morning, your presence fills our midst.  We come together to adore you, singing alleluia with fervent hearts.

Glory to the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.  As it was, is now, and will be forever, a timeless anthem of praise.

Your law, O Heart of the covenant, is our ark of salvation.  Not one of bondage, but of grace, mercy, and endless pardon.

In this new covenant, you have given us a temple that is more sacred.  A veil torn, granting us direct communion with your divine essence.

By love’s decree, you bore the wound from the lance’s thrust.  Inviting us to worship the unseen depth of your sacrificial love.

Beneath this emblem of love, our Savior, bloodied yet triumphant.  Christ, our High Priest, has rendered the ultimate sacrifice.

Who could withhold love from the One who loved so completely?  In your Heart, O Lord, we find our eternal sanctuary, our home.

We recall the promise of many dwelling places in the Father’s house.  Prepared by Jesus, the eternal Temple, where God resides among us.

In your heart, opened wide on the cross, there is room for all.  A place for every soul that seeks the face of God.

Remember, O Lord, the trials of David and his steadfast devotion.  His vow to find a dwelling for the Lord, a place for the Almighty.

Let us journey to your dwelling, to bow at your sacred footstool.  Ascending to your place of rest, alongside the ark of your might.

Clothe your priests in holiness, let your faithful exult in joy.  For you have chosen Zion, desiring it as your eternal abode.

“This is my resting place forever,” you have declared.  “Here, in the hearts of my people, I have chosen to dwell.”

We commit to (Simple Act) as our expression of devotion.  A simple yet profound gesture of our love and adoration.

May this act be a testament to our faith and a pleasing offering to you.  As we seek to live in the light of your love and grace each day.

We pray these things to you, our Lord God, through Christ. And It Is So.
